Ch. 2, PART 2: There Are Twenty-Four Letters in the Greek Alphabet
Yes, I had to Google it. By the way, “Omicron” is the fifteenth letter in the Greek Alphabet, so I guess means there have been fourteen other variants of COVID-19?
As we enter another phase of this pandemic and another year, your SDL thought he might be saying a fond farewell to all this by now (and to this series). Alas, no such luck. For now, I will spare you my thoughts on the court system, litigation backlog, and other pandemic ideas for this piece. Today, your SDL is simply looking for positives as 2021 slips away.
Is it a positive that this variant may burn through the country so quickly that the pandemic could become an endemic? Meh, I’ve heard better. Is it a positive that medication has been approved to treat COVID-19 by prescription? Too soon. Is it a positive that the NY Giants appear ready to bring back their head-coach and Danny Dimes after going 4-11 so far? Hard no.
So, what is good for 2022? Your SDL submits that relationships are still good. Hopefully, this extends to your family, friends, colleagues, and professional relationships. These connections make life full even in these crazy times. I’ve since learned the Greek Alphabet has twenty-four letters. I guess this could mean that there is the possibility of nine more variants (I don’t know what happens if we run out letters).
“Pi” is the next letter. So, in proper accordance, I think I will eat some (key lime to be exact) with my family and get a head start on 2022.
Happy New Year!
